Snakes are not dumb they will not sit on a heat mat if its to hot as long as it has somewhere away from the mat to sit it will as far as striking at you Juvinile BHP'S are renound for that mine does the same maybe you were keeping it to cold b4.

called the vet straight after it happened, vet said give him a few days before u bring him in

boa the wattage of my heat matt is 10 watts....

valley reptile supplies, i know snakes are not stupid i know that juvinile bhps are known to be defensive, but very unusual for this paticular guy.
i am not going to sit here and argue about wether he was on the hot spot or not, when i got home i looked at the thermometre it read 47 degrees, i opened the click clack and check to see if he was on the hot spot and he was, thats all there is to it. i got him out asap and he was very hot, so i put him on my bed with a hide while i called the vet for help (ive never dealt with an overheating snake before)

the hot side is set up to be between 30-35 degrees the cold side is about 24- 27 degrees...
