I had a teeneger bring a childreni yearling to me that wouldn't eat, and was very skinny. After quizing him for a bit I placed it in a click clack container will a little bit of warm water and placed it on a heat mat. My thoughts were that it may have a R.I. of some sort and bringing up the temps & humidity might show us further signs eg mucus or bubbles etc.
30 mins later it had slough in the water. It shed 2 layers and I manually rubbed a third off the poor lil fella.
He had 3 layers of unwanted shed. This caused himm to stop eating and I assume growing. To this day that lil childreni is doing very well and shedding fine.

So I can see where an inexperience herper can have a fatality via shedding.

Accidents happen and animals die due to aliments unawares to us. I think the difference is... is whether you cared or didn't care when the animal died.
