yep there is but in some cases you can void that by righting a letter to NPWS...

ha mate,
the reason i asked about the 6month law. is i had 3 eln turtles about 17cm long in a 6x2.5x2.5 foot tanks. my brother in law wanted it back now im up the creek. i cant aford a another tank or a pond. so i want to sell them to someone how can care for them.

Although the law exists it is in place to prevent individuals without a dealers licence acting as a dealer (i.e buying and selling for profit). In this circumstance they are usually more than understanding and would need to have some significant reason to say "no".

i spoke to a lady today and she told me they only pay attention went it is done a few times. so i gess im ok
