Question New white scale...?

Hi guys...!

It's been a long time since I posted here, sorry about that....!

Good news first, for those who were not present, I am proud of my Princesse who won 1st prize in the MD class at the reptile show 2 months ago

It was also very good to meet some of you guys... And thanks to Jill with her great tips on Beardies... (I'll start a post about my new pet in the appropriate forum)

Now, back to my Princesse who decided to show off a little bit more since she knows she's a winner....!
After her last shed a couple of weeks ago, a new white scale appeared on her nose.... Have a look at the picture...
Does anyone know what it could be, if it's gonna be permanent...? Is she a potential parent for an albino MD...??

Thanks guys....

Cheers,
Yann.

Congratulations to Princesse, she really is a stunning MD!

I hope you are enjoying your beardies! Glad to have helped, but if you have any questions there are heaps of people on here more experienced than me to help you out. Looking forward to pics!

Cheers, Jill

It could be a remaining scale yet to shed. I would say definantly no to being a future parent to albino offspring.

Positive thinking but aye?

Sam.

That's not a scale from the last shed as I examined the skin and all scales were present (at least on her head... i didn't check 6 feet of skin!!)
it is some kind of discoloration...
right after the shed the whole scale was bright white (no pics sorry) and if you look closely now, about half the scale is brown and the white aint as bright as it was..

Thanks anyway for your opinion...

Yann.

I've seen that on a few species, usually on the head scales. Even my own Princess Aimy (a Water Python - large head scales) has had this. The scales turn back to normal colour after a slough or two, maybe three.

She may be a het, you never know, but the white scale would have nothing to do with it

My childrens python had a white scale on her head when she was younger. Like Sdaji and MatE snakes her one dissapeared after a few sheds. Nothing to worry about.

I've got a female BHP with with some white scales. Was told she was born with them. She is 6 years old now. NCHERPS may recognise her.

I am not worried at all...
I was just wondering if it's a common thing in pythons or snakes in general.
Thanks again

Cheers
