Odd behaviour

Today i noticed that my diamond python was moving about this enclosure alot, normally he just sits in the one place for most of the day. i thought that he might be hungry and looking for food.
Then i noticed that he was at his water bowl and was continually dunking his head under the water (only his head). I then took him out of his enclosure and he was wheezing. He has never wheezed before. Do you think this is just because he had had his head under the water? He doesn't have mites and he isn't due for a shed. Any ideas?

It's possible that it was due to dunking it's head. Check the snake now to see if it still weezes. My diamonds were more active than usual today, bless 'em.

thanks for the reply. I have heard of snakes developing wheezes but i thought they would take longer to develop, i mean i had him out yesterday and he was fine.

He is still wheezing a little but no where near as bad as he was. Any ideas as to why he would be dunking his head under water. I did clean out his enclosure yesterday and some of hte stones were still a little damp so his humidity has been up a bit all day.

Wheezing is usually linked to RIs... But dunno why he's dunking his head

No not going to shed either. He has just recently (about 2 weeks ago) had a perfect shed. He is 2 years old. The wheezing seems to have stopped. I have a feeling that it may have just been a temporary thing because of having his head under water. Still unsure as to why he would dunk his head under. He barely goes near his water bowl usually.

hmmmm...... I think I might just give him some time and see how he is tomorrow. If there is any sign of the wheezing again then I will worry.
