However, after reading all that I can on this site it appears to me that not all pinkies are equal.
I've come across the term "day old pinkies".
Are they a different size from just "pinkies". I've been buying pinkies from a pet shop but maybe mine are too big. Can you buy pinkies according to age? And, if you can, where can I get them in southern Sydney? |

There's a great varience between suppliers in the size of their stock. I've bought 'fuzzie rats' from one supplier that have been smaller than 'pinks' I bought from someone else.
A good rule of thumb for feeding your snake is feed it prey items that are about 1.5 times the size of the thickest part of the snake's body-in your case that might not even be a pinkie. Just have a look at the size of the rats/mice you want to buy and go from there rather than just relying on a name.
As for suppliers in Southern Sydney, sorry I can't help you out.
Best of luck

He's a difficult feeder and he's only eaten 2 pinkies since we got him. I've been thru two packets trying to feed him. Hows that for a crazy newbie. Lots of people on this site have told me to relax about the feeding so we are. I'm maybe thinking that the pinkies were too big and he found the feeding uncomfortable. |

As Freddy said leave him alone for a few week, if you have troubles then try braining the pinkie. |
