I've had my pairs together for a few years now, they scream a little bit but have settled down heaps. Never injured themselves |

|  | Regular Member | Join Date: Mar-08 Location: Orange, 2800 Age/Gender: 20  | | | | For my pet rats i used to have them in a multi storey cage, they always had fights between them, but if i wasnt around they used to fight pretty bad. I found multi storage is great cos if they have a big scuff one will just fall off the edge and the fight is over (mind you, they didnt fall far)
This worked great for many many years, and i always had around 7 adult rats living together. |

it is better for breeding...if they have separate living habitats
introduce the female by putting her in HIS habitat...
if you do this opposite the male will scent out the female habitat ..taking possibly a week before mating
by putting the female in the MALES habitat ...the courtship will be over & done with in 48 hrs maximum
then place the female back in her habitat...she will feel safe without being harassed by the male
& you will end up with healthy pups....not eaten ones!
