|  | steve Subscriber | Join Date: Mar-07 Location: gold coast Gender:  | | | | Yeah all my enclosures have probe thermostats, mine are the metal probes and which would be more sensitive then the plastic ones quote me if im wrong, but the plastic probes never seemed be accurate.
I keep my probe close to the heat source, so i also you a thermometer and set the thermostat to what temp i need to what the thermometer reads. I dont rely on the dial as it may be out of place, alway check the temps with a thermometer and adjust to what you want, i also use a safety cut of switch with every thermostat.

There are many comercially available brands, models and types. If you give us a little bit of info on your setup we can advise the most suitable one. For example some are suitable for globes others are not. Some dim, some pulse and some turn on and off. Hope this helps. |

For example, if you are using globes in the next enclosure you may consider getting one that will be suitable for mats and globes. |
