Generally snakes will go milky for a couple of days, then they'll go clear again and they'll start shedding a couple of days after that, so don't stress
Remember to make sure your little fella's got water in with him so that he has more chance of having a clean shed!

How old is your diamond? Our 6yr old can take weeks at a time to shed! It's usually about a week or so after his eyes are milky that he sheds!
Don't fret it can take time.

Cheers,
Mell

He is about a year and a half old. i have water in his enclosure that he can soak in, i also lightly spray water in his enclosure every couple days during his shedding time.

My shed problem

I have had my Cappie for nearly 3 months now. Her eyes went cloudy for about 3 days then went clear again so I was confused as to weather she was going to shed or not. Because I originally thought she was going to shed I held off feeding her as I feed every 2 weeks, then because her eyes went clear again I thought maybe she wasnt shedding so I fed her. During the night she has shed 2/3 of her skin. The last 3rd is the tail end and because she has had a feed she will proberbly stay hidden away for a couple of days.
So heres my question.....should I leave her a couple of days and see if she gets the rest of the skin off herself or should I get her out and put her in water/wet towel etc?

What happens when they are going to shed is that their eyes turn milky for a few days and then turn clear again, after they have turned clear again your snake should shed about a week or so later. So don't be confused when they turn clear again, they will shed.
Ok to address the problem in hand, firstly how old is your snake? If she isn't getting the skin off herself you will have to assist her. If she has only just eaten leave her a day or 2 before doing this so as not to disturb her meal, but in the mean time mist her a couple of times a day and make sure there's plenty of water in her enclosure. When her meal has gone down try getting her out and soaking her in luke warm water for about 20mins, there are a couple of ways of doing this depending on your snake. My babies love having a bath so they will stay in a bowl whilst soaking for 20mins (or more if I let them) - see the pic below, otherwise you can use a damp towel to gently rub her down. Hopefully with this method the skin will come off. Another option is to use vegetable oil on her, which I have used for stubborn tail tips, and I gently rub the area affected with a small amount of oil and this assist the skin in being gently rubbed off.
Also with the area that has shed, have you checked the head area to see if her eye scales have come off or not as this is an important area and something I check with EVERY shed. The other thing to make sure is that the skin around the cloacca comes off as well and doesn't cause a blockage.

I hope this has helped but if you need anything just pm me ok.
Good Luck

Cheers,
Mell
