Hey all. This i kinda a silly question but im having trouble getting a proper answer.
Can you use flyscreen mesh to cover a UV light. Or does it cut out to much UV?
Also what temps should i have for EWD's?

fly screen may burn near a light and if its for beardies dont put it close enough for them to reach and it should be right

Use aluminum flywire, not the fiberglass type. Won't be very solid though, rodent mesh is much better for light guards.

The UV will be cut down by the flyscreen. Also the usable UV output will deminish the further from the bulb you are too.
With regards to temperature, provide a basking area similar to beardies so 36 is fine and a good amount of water as the higher humidity is good too.

I didn't think flyscreen would cut UV. What about the mesh vivariums you can buy - they claim to be fully UV accessible

it wouldnt suprise me if fly screen does absorb some of the uv.

The flyscreen absorbes UV wherever the mesh is, so if it covers say 5% of the area then 5% of the uv is cut out. Some mesh are bigger than others and will block out more. Mesh is however much better than glass which absorb pretty much all of it.
