Retained shed from 2 sheds back

Hi all, just after some opinions before I go for the vet option. My childreni had a bit of retained shed about a third of the way down his body, which I couldn't remove at the time so I waited until his next shed to see what happened. He just shed and it was all complete, plus it looks like the retained shed has come off, but there's still another one on him! I think he must have had it 2 sheds back but I didn't realise (as he was new and my first snake).
I've tried again to remove it with no luck, bathing doesn't seem to make any difference. It seems firmly dried in place, so it is time for the vet or has anyone had luck before getting really old pieces off and if so what was your method?
Thanks.

Here's a pic from before his last shed, it looks more dried up than this now.

try bathing him in a tub or water but make sure he can prop his head up on something for roughly a hour and then try and peal the skin off ( you have to watch him the while time thow to be sure he doesnt freak out and drown). but i think you can get some spray or some thing from pet shops to help reptiles shed???? try that

Or you could try rubbing a little olive oil into him.

No salt or pepper, just olive oil

Cheers guys. Yeah I've tried a brief bath, and a long bath. Would like to try a solution of some kind, wondered if anyone has had success with a particular substance with shed as old as this as it seems particularly stubborn.

walm water with a chux wipe seems to work well for me lightly rub the affected area from front to back

Visit Facebook Profile
try leaving him inside a wet pillow case (turned inside out) for a couple of hours. the humidity and the rubbing should do the job...
it's a good trick, works most of the time, and cheaper than the vet or some expensive magic potion from the pet shop...!
If it doesn't work ,you can still spend your dollars in your local shop...!!

good luck.

cheers,
Yann
