I have been through two sheds with my spotted... and one was recent (only a couple of weeks ago).
Her first shed with me occured around 6-7 weeks ago (I think) and then again about 3 weeks later. Which suprised me to say the least.
When she was shedding, it was hard to even notice a change in her. Although her colour faded and she hid in her hidey hole instead of under her mat. And she did that twice.
I have a few questions from these events... first - is it normal to shed twice so quickly?
Secondly - I noticed some rough scales down her tail end yesterday. When i say rough I mean they sort of looked, ummm, raised??? Normally you run your hand down from her head to her tail and she feels silky (best way to describe) this time she felt silky all bar the left hand side tail for around 2 cm.
Could this be the startings of another shed? Is this the remains of an old shed that i haven't noticed? Or something else?
She doesn't seem in any discomfort when touching the affected area...
Make sure the raised scales aren't due to mites underneath them, they should be easy to see if there there, they would also cause increased sheds, but so can many other things.

Depends on how many mites, but there may only be a few raised scales from them depending on how many there are. If mites raise scales it tends to be towards the belly, but not on the belly scales themselves.
But as I said there are many other explanations.
