hi all, need some advice in setting up a few large plasic boxes for my 8mnth old jungles. i was wondering how important it really is to have a light (IR or the blue ones) for jungles, or if i can get away with only having ground heating. they will be in them for about three months (i need to take them with me), until i can put them back in their original cages. i will be living in rural SA, so it can easily reach 40deg (especially this year), so how buch ventelation do you reccommend? thanks
josh

Have plenty of ventilation and IMO ground heating only is fine. I'll post some pics of my setups tomorrow.

just run a heat pad at 33 to 35 c in 1/3 of the floor space , have the water bowl and hide at cool end, leave heat pad on 24 / 7 ,
or if you use a bulb to up your ambiant temps use thermostat to make sure the tub does not over heat you also need more ventilation if your going to set up a bulb in the tub and protective cover on the bulb too to stop burns etc

thanks, it rarely goes below 20 at night, so i reckon i should be able to get away without a globe in it.... ill b keeping a close eye on it anyway.... their main enclosures have both floor and globe heating.... i really wanted to make sure that it wont be a problem if i use floor heating solely.
