Hi Peter,
Generally males have a head that is larger than the rest of the body, and the colours are normally a little brighter than the females.
I had the people at Upmarkets pets (Vic Markets Melb) do a probe on one of my blues, I was 99.99% sure she was a she, and the probe agreed with that.
So I know that Probing has worked in my experince, so you may like to give that go.
Regards
John

head size, cloaca flap length, body length, tail shape, belly colour, eye colour. All these are signifiers but not 100%. Colour and or pattern are not a signifier.
If the tail is steadily tapering from the hind legs then lift the cloacal flap and place firm but not rough pressure to the sides of the tail and attempt to pop the hemipenes. You can also clean out old semen ready for the spring or now actually. Again this s\doesnt always work and probing is probably the go unless you have seen them mate or give birth.

If you keep a close eye on them the males often excrete sperm plugs. Male and female behaviour is also quite different during breeding season.

| Peter, could you please elaborate on the cloacal flap length and tail shape differences?
