In my opinion it would hurt them...... kill them actually...
I use breeders choice for my rats and mice... But thats Just my opinion and what I know as a friend of mine did it and she woke up next morning with all her rodents half dead......

i dont see a problem with normal shavings (in fact aspen, cedar etc are great and they keep the smell down) but treated pine?! Treated pine is laced with chemicals and i'd hate to be concentrating those chemicals in my snake food.

you can get mice friendly shavings....
But its so messy! Plus people have been known to develop allergies to the dust that it gives when cleaning. Not asthma friendly and can also cause eye irritations.

Breeders choice is easier to clean (in my opinion) and they love to move it around ect so it gives them something to do.

Hysorb sounds ok
http://www.ecw.com.au/hysorb.htm
But if you have asthma even though its been dust extracted i wouldn't use it......and we have used this in the past and people have still developed allergies to it.

But in saying that if you only work with male mice or rats you can also develop an allergy to them as well.

if it didnt kill the rats it would accumulate in the the snake and may kill it after a period of time.
