Shedding - general info request

I am just new to the snake keeping world and have a spotted python who seems to be coming up to his first shed in my care. He is almost 1 year old and I have had him almost a month. I have just a couple of general info questions.
How often would you expect a young python to shed and how long would it take on average from when he gets the milky eyes to when all the old skin is off?

I have an 8-10 month old spotted who started to shed Saturday morning. I'm guessing her eyes were milky overnight while I was sleeping as I'd been handling her up until about midnight and hadn't noticed anything unusual... handled fine, wasn't grumpy... she also ate on the Friday night which in hindsight was a little disturbing.

I lifted her hide on the Saturday morning and noticed her face starting to peel back, so I put her in a tub with water and some scrunched up newspaper for an hour and a half. When I came back, she was just peeling off her tail.

However, her first shed was flaky as hell (stress) and took three days...

Hey New Kid,
Welcome to APS.
My Spotted's use to shed every month or 2 when they were that age. And it can take 2 weeks+ or it can happen in a few days after the eyes go milky, It's a random sorta thing i reckon.

Bill.

expect on average a shed every 6 weeks or so.... all depending on how much much it is growing.... so your feeds will play a big part in it....
also i usually find once the eyes go milky they usually shed within a week.... but every snakes different....

My spotted and stimson are on different schedules - the spotted sheds more often, but both are very healthy. It takes them 5 - 7 days from milky to the shed. If humidity is okay and they have a nice rock to rub on, the shed usually goes very well. Here's a photo of my spotted shedding. I like the "ghost snake" effect where his mouth shed is positioned on his back.
