Dampen a pillow case in lukewarm water, place the snake inside and leave in a warm place for 10 mins. This should loosen the scales and be easier to peel off. Most cases if you wait till the next shed it usually comes off anyway- however i am currently ( well my snake is anyway) suffering the effects of the skin becoming so tight it has caused her t become stressed and fall ill. If you take it to the vet they can give you a cream to help remove the scales.

Good Luck,

Simone.

P.S. What sort of snake is it? Do you have any rough surfaces that the animal can scratch/rub off those scales? What's the humidity like?

The humidity is around about 55 to 60. He has a massive branch he could rub his head on...
He is a 16 month old coastal by the wat.
Thanks

Same thing happened to mine, I was told to add a tiny bit of non purfumed fabric softener to the water (soak for 1 hout at a time in a bucket, just enough water so the snake can touch the bottom and wont drown), then after apply olive oil.

That advise was given by a Melb herp vet and after 6 soaks it did finally work.
