My 6 month old coastal shed about 3 months ago and ive been expecting a shed for a while now why isnt she shedding i took a look at her a few minutes ago and i noticed there is a tiny (tiny) bit of old skin on the bottom so i tried to carefully remove it but she just tried to strike at me
is this the reason why she isnt shedding??
please help |

Get a small damp cloth and gently rub the skin 'till it comes off. Do not force the skin off.

|  | Subscriber | Join Date: Sep-06 Location: Bordertown Age: 25 | | | | sheds vary from indiviual snake to invidiual snake. coulbe be as little as 4 weeks to shed, just depends on how fast they grow out of their old skin.
another tip would be to soak the snake in luke warm water just deep enough to be most to fully submerged for 10-15min, BUT watch the snake as they could drown.

The younger the snake the more often they will slough if the are eating every 7 - 10 days. The older the snake gets the less frequent they will slough.
