Enclosure: Anything bigger than 4ftx2ftx2ft for more than 2
Heating: Hot end of roughly 30c with a basking spot a bit hotter...cool end 24c ish
Substrate: Fake grass matting or newspaper
Food: Any fruit and veg (except citric) and snails - Caught from a non baited area and if unsure of this eaither keep the snails in a container for 24hrs or dont feed them.....A snail can travel up to 3 house blocks in a rainy night.
Hides: A few hollow logs or something for them to go into
Lighting: Reptile specific tube....eg repti-star or repti-glo something that give sout UVA and UVB

They like to dig and 'snuggle' in something at night, so a substrate better than newspaper would be good for them. I used rice hulls.

Iv heard that you can use leaf litter.
but do you collect the leaves from the yard, or can you buy them from somewhere?

I use newspaper as flooring with a large shallow plastic tub with wood shavings in it. it is easy to keep clean. I would not recomend leaf litter as it will have all sorts of creepy crawleys in it as well as moisture that will turn into humidity under heat and humidity will kill the shingles. You can have alot of trouble keeping shingles.

if you live on the coast where there is higher humidity you should use rice poles or shredded newspaper for substrate to keep the humidity down as they are prone to skin problems.have your hot end of your enclosure at 38 to 40 degrees.we did'nt leave water in thier enclosure to keep humidity down aswell.we would leave the water in for a couple of hours once a week as they get alot of moisture out of the food they eat.

use torn up news paper , as they like to dig into it to sleep, if on coast what the humidity, as humidity will coures flu like symptons eg. your lizard starts to snease or sound weezey. this can kill the shingle back lizard.
