Thats some variation in temps...

one person says hot end at 30 degrees...some else says 38-40 degrees!

As someone who wants Shingles- I'd be curious as to which of these is right.

re shingleback

All you need inside is a heat matt under on side of a tank so that the surface temp is low thirtys, they like temp drops at night in winter.Shinglebacks like drained environments the ones i have outside in western sydney which is much dryer than the east live in similar conditions to blotched bluetongues. They are provided with a high dry area where the cover is and a roof, they sun themselves each day in winter and dont hibernate, the males are starting to become aggressive with the cold nights.I observed one individual openining up his mouth and trying to grab another by the tail the other day,its amazing how fast they can move when in dispute i think they are both males.Westaussie should be knowledgable with shinglebacks,he has quite a few and apparently breeds them, your getting yours from him arnt you antaresia,he would have good advice on maintenance .
