I have a 14 Watt Heat Mat constantly on underneath the tank keeping a constant temperature between 27 – 30 degrees in the heated area. They move from the heated area to cool area when they require. They have been going well, eating and doing what Blue Tongues do. I have just added a Shingleback and have been wondering if this is enough heat. I have been looking on the Net and different reptile forums and have been reading so many different ideas. Some say a basking lamp keeping a heated area between 35 – 40 degrees, some say just a heat source of between 25 – 30 degrees. I was just wondering what you people think and what ideas and suggestions you may have. This is my first Shingleback and want what’s best for the animals. Keeping snakes are easy but finding non conflicting information on Shinglebacks has been a pain in the butt. Thanks for your input. |

I also found when I did put them together the shingles used to sit on the easterns, which worried me quite a bit as they are heaps larger than the easterns.
