I've kept both species together in outdoor pits, were fine, though the bluies were alot more agressive feeders so i had to make sure the shinglebacks got enough.

They keep Blueys and Shingles together along with Frillys at Perth Zoo....don't know if thats their permanent home or if they have another one and just let them out during zoo times...
They all looked quite happy to hang out together. The frillys loved the trees, and the others just roamed the ground...quite funny to watch them walk around and around the enclosure...them shingles can move when they get going!

Iv'e kept shingles, bluey's, cunninghams, beardies, and pink tongues all together and they are all fine, BUT it dependes on each individual animal, all my animals are hand raised and are handled every day of their lives from day one, introducing wild caught animals of the ones mentioned above would result in disaster.

Shingle backs need to have the water trays in with them for a couple of hours a fortnight where the blue tongues need water more regularly than that. If the shingle back Skinks have the water tray with them all the time they develop a repiratory infection {i know they get sick somehow from water being with them all the time} I can write this from personal experience. but i might be wrong. Just adding my two cents

RevDan, its caused by the humidity level in the cage I've never had a problem, as long as the water is at the cool end and the cage is well ventilated you should be fine, both blueys and shinglebacks probably drink a similar amount of water if given the opportunity
Edit: Kirby there is no need to bump the thread your original question has been answered.
