They certainly won't die if you give them no UV although some here think they do better with it. Give them a shallow tub ie 6 - 8 inches filled with wood shavings that they can burrow under, use newspaper as substrate with large ceramic / terracotta type tiles over the newspaper, They like to be kept hot (30 deg.). offer them a log or rock so as they can climb into the tub. place tub in middle of enclosure (not under the hot spot) and always feed on a clean surface as they are prone to eating subtrate if fed directly on it (ie the use of newspaper and tiles).
