Sick Beardie - Help!

Hi my son has a 4 month old beardie. He has been a good eater but the last two days he has not eaten and not done a poo. His feet are shaking. The temp in his enclosure is 30 degrees and he has a UV light at one end and a heat mat. One cool area at end with his water. He eats crickets, meal worms, lettuce, cucumber and zuccini normally. My son said he fed him a green cabbage moth grub on Monday. I have an appointment with Vet in the morning but if anyone has any ideas please post.

Thank You
Linda

i dont have very much experience with beardies, but not eating for 2 days i think is fine. after 5 days id be worried. are his legs shaking a lot?

if he's still not eating, you can always force feed him

(but again, i dont have much experience in beardies)

Luke warm bath... baby baths are great for this or the kitchen sink
massage beardies tummy GENTLY...try to do this for at least 20 minutes...
even 10min break ,then another 10min

Is the U.V naked to the Beardie...is it sitting on top of glass ?

How big is beardie..... unless you have a monster... never feed MEALWORMS to a hatchie...
they need to be more Juvenile/Adult size to digest them....they can cause impaction ...to much shell for them to digest!....

Bath now...vet in morning....beardie should pass anything consumed in the bath!

Shakes can be not enough U.V & or Calcium!...Ditto Helikaon!

he is in an open large plastic tub so the UV is open. OOps sounds like I have impacted him with mealworms. Putting him back in the sink now.
Thanks

find out what Helikaon means?

What is your temp under heat light....& the temp at cool end?

temp at head height should be around 36-38*.........cool end 23*
at night temps should not go below 16....18* is better

crickets from day old to 8 wks should coated with calcium....every feed..4-5 feeds pr day
8wks-16 wks ...3-4 feeds pr day coated every other feed

i dont remember who said it but it was a member on APS....
use calcium...on week days.....vitamins on week ends...
this is so easy to remember ...its brilliant!

Woodies & crickets can be consumed from day 1.... its the size that varies....with size of beardie
if the insect fits between the eyes of a beardie...its safe

keep to greens...not root veg or stem yet....
iceberg & coz lettuce has no nutritional value...but asian varieties are better
bukchoy varieties & endive are easy to find in most supermarkets....no stem yet!
for variation use mint...or basil....or watercress
hybiscus flower...rose petals....dandelion petals....are great as garnish on top...make sure they have no chemicals on them!

hope bub is better soon!
