sliding door lock

my local reptile shop on king st Newtown gave me one of these mini door stops to use insted of one of the metal key lock ones. this suits us fine because we ran a strip (you can see the black line) on the insde to close the gap between the sliding glass thus inhibbiting the use of the metal glass lock. i think its great, you'd be surprised how well it works.

Hey thats a great idea, thanks for posting it as i actually just bought a reptile one tank with those sliding glass doors and was freaking out my new geckos would try to squeeze in that gap and it was made worse when i did put a lock on there. What is that black strip called you have on the end of the glass ?? I will be getting that and a door stop now

nah that's not it, it's down the south end, it's quite new. they have some pretty cheap stuff, the service dest is a massive tank with some huge clown loaches, saratogo, heap of massive indoor fish. it's worth dropping in to see that. it's near the union hotel.

to use the foam tape with a lock all you do is cut two bits of it and leave the right size gap for the end of the lock to fit. i like the stopper idea
cheers blake

mmm... we don't have any kids, sometimes my friends bring their kids round to see our strange collection of pets, but they are always supervised with our herps, a few parents dont let their young kids touch the snake, mostly cos they live in the country and don't want their children to have a false sense of security with pythons vs elapids. i lould love to be more helpful with my stopper stockist, maybe it's called reptiles and anphibians or something, really the best i can do is say it's near the union hotel, near the corner of Bray st and King st newtown. (south endish) if you live in the area, it is a gem of a shop. the guy in there is really nice, the chick isn't very vocal, but they stock heaps of reptile stuff, food, tropical fish, awesome discus, and they are just getting their salt water section up and running. recently they have got in various species of scorps, giant cockroaches ect. they will also order stuff for you if you ask aswell. check it out.

oh yeah, the black strip, is a shaved down disposable chopstick coloured in black. just glued onto the front edge of the inside pane of sliding glass door... cost.... 10 mins of time.
