Snake advice

My carpet python for the past week or so has spent 95% of the time in his water bowl. Is this an indecation of any deseases??? Mites?

Not sure if it may just be that he has dry skin, his skin seems normal.

Thanks,
Hannes

He's probably close to a shed but definately check for mites, you should see dead ones in the water if he has been soaking. He may also just want a swim

you could try looking in its poo or you could just worm it to be on the safe side. the best place to look for mites is between th fold of skin under his jaw pull it apart gently and have a look if he has mites they will be there

Check his poo & you should see worms if he has them but i've personally never heard of soaking being a sign of worms, but correct me if i'm wrong people. If you are really very worried then the best thing would be a vet checkup but soaking is pretty normal behaviour so just keep a close eye on him for a few days & i'm sure he will be right. The best time to check your snake & enclosure for mites is at night because thats when they are out & about.
