hey everyone,
i put my python in a new enclosure on the 23rd april, and he went behind the wall paper i have, came out again, then went back behind there and hasnt come out for 8 days now. Iv been told to leave him, and he will come out when he feels safe, but im starting to get worried. I havent seen any movement at all.... i would take off the wallpaper to check him, but its pretty difficult to remove, and will upset him for sure. what should i do guys? help!
cheers.

Should at least check to see if he hasnt escaped.
Also check his cage late at night, he might be out then

Gday boney, your snake could think its just cosey, but ide suspect that you have lights for heat and it wants to cool itself off on the backwall, its a possibility at this time of year espesially if your a person that keeps up the air temps, other than that i dunno. |

Likely he is sneaking around a t night then returning to his 'safe place', or he may be coming up to a shed or settling in to wait the winter out.

Bonustoken, maybe the cage space is too large and daunting, if it has lived its life so far in a small tub then is moved to a larger open cage then maybe it is slightly stressed and looking for a secure place to hide. I wouldnt panic yet, but if it stays there constantly then i would think about changing to a frosted plastic tub with paper towel, water bowl and a hide to give the little guy a sense of security.... just my 2 cents
