Snake with dandruff?

I've done a quick browse and I can't find anything but i need urgent help (that's why i love you guys.. you're always there for urgent help.

I've been through 9 sheds now and they've all been perfect, one piece sheds. I mist my snakes when they go cloudy and grey... and i increase humidity..

HOWEVER, my largest MD is seemingly close to a shed... it's been about 4 weeks (mine usually shed at 6).. but she isn't cloudy or grey.. which is fine. The problem is that she seems to have alot of loose scales on her head and neck (if you can call it that on a snake...) I tried taking photos but you can't really see it anyway... It looks like she has dermatitis or as though she has gotten sunburnt and now she's peeling... It certainly doesn't look healthy... My thermometer says the humidity is at 51%.... It looks as though if you rubbed it the wrong wway the scales would fall off...

I normally would just wait it out without requiring 'urgent help' but I'm going on holidays and leaving her with my boyfriend and i won't really sleep unless i know she's okay... (I'm not playing favourites.. but... she's my favourite...)

Please help!

It's really hard to diagnose these sorts of things without seeing it first hand, so if you could post some photo's, they would be of great assistance.

She may have just rubbed herself the wrong way on something its hard to say from description, but u can try bathing her in pink eye powder, its a general antibiotic nd will kill most dermatalogical problems over a time

my camera isn't high resolution enough!

The scales look defined and silvery... mostly on her head. she seems otherwise fine. tongue is healthy.. eyes are bright... no mites.. no unusual behaviours... just what seems to be dandruff...

they look as though when you have that felt material on couches and cars sometimes.. when you rub the material one way it goes a darker colour to when to rub it the opposite way

pink eye powder? i assume that's not make-up?

she does look like she's rubbed the wrong way.. but will it interfere with her shed?

I don't think are going to help at all because you can't see most of the scales - they're a bit small.. however you can see the largest silver scale sticking out...

"pink eye powder? i assume that's not make-up?"
thats priceless
I think its actually a cattle antibiotic, dnt really remember, but u should be able to pik it up at petshops nd places, best thing in the world for that.
if its just been rubbed the wrong way shedding will produce new scales that arent as damaged

caustic ... i think about a week or two...

lector... yes... i thought it would be something like that... for eye infections so it'd be gentle... however i did have this immediate mental image of "so she's ugly, cover it up with make-up and no one will notice"...

God its like talking to a monkey- u said it thats y i put little perenthisis around it, i prob shoulda quoted but im lazy.
Yea id say from pics u have just got scales turned the wrong way, u could try pushing the scales the other way on another snake and seeing if it looked the same.

I am not a monkey.... i know you were quoting me... i just said in my very first original post that there was no point in me putting photos up.. and then people asked anyway.. then i gave... then i get told they're crap.. then i said i know... 'i said that'...

see?

silly goose...

anyway, they're not just pushed the wrong way... that silver one you CAN see in the photo looks more like it's raised... like dry skin.. what should humidity be for MD's? i thought brisbane summer would just take care of humidity.. as it is I'm sweating like a pig at the moment...
