Stimmy laying eggs - advice please

G'day all,

my pair of stimsons have been at it again.

this year i have ordered a nice fancy new incubator for them which should be here today.

unfortunately she decided to lay 2 weeks earlier than last year and i arrived home to some eggs yesterday.

she wasnt laying in her nesting site - but was better than last year when she laid from the top of a log.

i have been told it is best to have the eggs seperate is possible. i moved her during laying last year with no probs, but it looks like i have made a big mistake this year.

i have taken her eggs off her before she finished laying. last year they were in a big clump and i felt some were too covered if that makes sense. so i took her first five off her to get them seperate. but now she wont finish laying - i know this makes sense in hindsight - should i give them back to her? or just give her more time to continue laying?

i took the eggs off her yesterday at around 5.30 ish and she hasnt laid more since, but looks like there are a few more left.

Any ideas that will help me now? Note - giving me a hard time for removing her eggs will not help at this point....

Cheers
Stew

hey stew boy you are in a pickle arnt you, um i am not the best person to ask for adivce in this matter as i have never experienced it before. but i would think that giving her back the eggs probably wouldn't help, i think what may have happened is the stress of you stealling her eggshas made her stop laying but possibly if you cover her up make her enclosure dark so she feels secure she may lay the rest. if she actually ahs any left, she may have simply finished, the bad part is disturbance may have caused her to become eggbund, due to a broken egg. and that would not be a good thing.
hopefully someone who has experienced this before will give you some advice, but i was awake so i thought i'd atleast give you something to try.

cheers
H.
if you get really worried take her down to your vet and get them to ultrasound her. i wouldnt do that unless you believe there is a proble because obviously it would be very stressful on her.

but i hope it all works out for you and congrats on the allready layed eggs.
