mine was eating fine until it's first winter, then stopped, I re built it's enclosure so there were no cold spots, and it hasn't looked back. It would eat every day if it could but I feed it about 3 times a week, one mouse per feed. As a hatchling it was eating 4 - 5 fuzzies per feed.

Trust me they are not fussy, just require huge amounts of heat and stress free enclosure set ups. There have been many threads on this site and other regarding people unable to get spencers to eat. Have a close look at their distribution, they live in a very hot, arid area and demand more heat than other monitors (thus their cheaper price than other monitors)

I just looked at the present temp, it is 27 deg in the coldest part of the tank, and gets up to 38.4 in the coldest part of the tank during the day. where he is sleeping is around 35 deg now. The day time basking spot would be up to around 60 plus deg.
