Hi Guys,
Hope that someone can help us with this question. We have 2, (5 week old ) Central Bearded Dragon babies. At the moment we have nothing on the floor of a melamine enclosure, today I tried to put breeders choice down but the dragons couldn't get the crickets as they(the crickets) burrowed into the pellets. I was told to put red desert sand down but was also told that it was no good as they got it in their eyes and swallowed it. Is it OK to have nothing down? Or what should I put in their enclosure?
Thanks for your help in advance.

use newspaper
and as they grow and age move them up to sand that is still risky but
they might get smarter as they age

Should I tape the paper down as the crickets can get under it where it lifts up (where the fold is).

Put breeders choice down. When the lights go out the crickets WILL come out and they will get eaten. I say use B.C.

When the light go out, the beardies go to sleep, where ever they are, and the crickets come out looking for food, and your baby beardie may get injured.
Use paper towls, place cage furnishings startigicaly, so that it is hard to the crickets to hide under neath. Crickets seem to want to jump around more so than go and hide.

And MrSpike is right, leaving crickets in ur viv is a TERRIBLE idea. The crickets will just eat ur beardies - and that's no joke.

True sorry to give wrong idea's. I ALWAYS watch untill the food is eaten, not all people are like me and stay up till morning. NEVER leave uneaten food with ANY lizards. I was a bit quick and not thinking when I posted that!!!!
