Hook the snake out and then place it on the palm of your hand. They can be intimidated by a hand/arm reaching towards them.

You can't compare one to another. They are all different. Using a hook is best for timid snakes. You said he was only young. He may very well grow out of it. I don't know a lot about the bredli but I have a friend who has a young bredli who is very snappy. If he's gonna show anybody a snappy snake its the little bredli he gets out.

Put a small cardboard globe box in his house for him to hide in and when you want to get him out pick up the box and gently slide the little guy out onto your hand and dont wiggle your thumb around always try to be calm when doing this

You've got to consider their brain size I don't think they are fast learners IMO

Just put your hand in (back first works sometimes) and pick him up. Feed him as usual even a bit more - I have found sometimes snappy snakes can be a bit hungry. Most settle with regualr handling, once you have him out never go straight towards his face always bring your hand up under his head.

Snakes can sense your nervousness too so try to be calm. If you jerk your hand back everytime you think he's gonna strike this will cause him to do it more. You might provide yourself with more confidence if you start with a hook, until you learn to read his "emotions" - dunno the word to use there but you know what I mean.

they get over it after a while when they realise your no threat and dont associate your hand with danger, it doesnt hurt anyway, and hooks are for elapids

my bredli was horribly snappy as a baby,...whenever i'd approach his tank he'd attack the glass he was so keen to kill me, so i started taking him out and handling him for a few mins, then putting him back, as soon as he was back he'd turn around and have another go @ me, so i'd pull him out again, he got over it pretty quickly and became the nicest boy around.

be calm and gentle, little bredlis barely break teh skin.

The same can be said of some members!

A brain the size of a large dust grain doesn't hold the cognative ability to consider action and reaction - but they do have some wonderous wiring to insitinct! And something big, possible danger must attack is what gets wired there!

Or something similar
