yet another question about dreaded heat temperatures.
I have a heat mat hooked up to my thermostat and a heat lamp, the mat was doing the job for months (it was at a stable 28-30.C) but all of a sudden the temp. has dropped to just over 20.C!!!! ive been turning the lamp on aswell during the day the last few days but i dont know why it dropped so dramatically?

Your mat isn't able to handle the cold weather we've been having...
You will need a more powerful mat but keep it on a thermostat...

Provided it isn't overheating etc - if the temps are right it doesnt really matter how they get that way, you just need to ensure they STAY that way - a thermostat and more powerful heat mat would do this more effectively...

but remember it is going to get a lot colder. Might want to check if the heat matt is still workin though. My heat matt stopped even though the thermostat said it is was still working.

my guess would be buggered heatmat.... if i turn all my heating off the cages all sit just above 20.... so chances are the ambient temps in your house are about the same. so it could be that
