Yes you can use ToD to treat cages and animals. Just spray it lightly in to the cage. Before you do that, I personally use the following method if they ever get mites.
1. Remove python from cage
2. Place python in warm water for a few minutes (until you notice mites on surface)
3. Clean and dry snake
4. Place into click-clack treated with ToD (I place a tea-towel lightly sprayed with ToD into the click-clack as a temporary hide.
5. Now clean your enclosure thouroughly with warm water and soap.
6. Dry cage completely. (I use a hair dryer - whilst the wife is at work - lol).
7. Leave for a day.
8. Treat with ToD thouroughy making sure to pay attention to cracks and holes in rocks and branches.
9. Wait 2 days and check for mites in wood by tapping onto a piece of white paper and use a magnifying glass. (I know this makes it time consuming but I would rather have no mite re-infestation than have a re-infestation).
10. Upon a clear examination, put python back in.
Best of luck to you mate, hope it helps.
This by no means is the 101 solution, by it is a tried and proven method used by me on my previously owned reptiles.
Cheers

People don't usually want to look bad asking about mites. Now if he has mites, or anyone else on the site does, they have a good method to treat them.
