Water Dragons help

What are the general requirements for keeping Water Dragons? They are gorgeous little lizards. How big do they get and what size enclosure should you keep them in? What do they eat? And any other general information you can give me would be great.

Eastern Water Dragons?

They get quite large (length). Males are greater in size than females. Snout to vent length average is 245mm.

If you are after an indoor enclosure an adult pair will need something at least 130cm long. Have branches for climbing etc. UV light for basking. Clean water in large enough bowl/container to allow both to be completely submerged in without the water overfilling.

Hope this helps

Thanks guys.

Those dragons are so cute. I tend to go overboard with branches and those types of things, I guess that's good in this case. Haha. I saw some wild ones the other day when I was walking past a creek. They had very high yellow colours and I wished like hell it was legal to catch them. haha. So gorgeous.

LOL Yeah - but it's nice to see them in their natural habitat too. And u gotta be quick to catch a waterdragon lol!

They are great animals - I love watching ours. Funny characters.

I love how all the little dragon species have such funny personalities and characteristics. Gotta love em. My mate had a beardie and every year at christmas he'd run under the xmas tree, grab some tinsel and come out with the biggest look of accomplishment on his face.

i have 2 males.... i had them inside in a 5ft x 2ft x 2ft vivarium, with 1ft at an end divided off for water.... in my opinion this was comfortable for them till they got to 2 years old.... while they probably could have stayed in this i think they wouldnt have been as happy as they are now! so the 130cm's that teni mentioned up in a previous post would be the absolute smallest you would want for 2!!! (and you would end up upsizing to give them more room in a few years anyway)

mine are now outside in an aviary that is 10ft x 5ft x 6'8 with a massive pond and lots of climbing room!

Wow they are gorgeous! I bet they are loving that Aviary you have for them. Looks fantastic. When I move out of home (next year. Woot) I'll definately set up something similar. Thanks for the pics. They really help with what to have in the setup.
