THIS AFTERNOON I WALKED OVER TO MY TURTLE TANK WHICH CONTAINS 2 JUVENILE MURRY SHORTNECKS TO BE SHOCKED BY THE SITE OF 1 OF MY TURTLES LAYING DEAD ON THE TANK FLOOR. tHIS WAS SUCH A SAD SHOCK DUE 2 THE FACT THAT LAST TIME I SAW HIM WAS 2 HOURS AGO AND HE WAS LOKING FINE. ALL OF THE ENCLOSURES FEATURES ARE FINE eg TEMP, WATER TEMP AND FILTRATION. I JUST DONT NO WHAT WENT WRONG ANY HINTS |

Have you used any sprays near the tank? Does the other turtle appear fine? What are they being fed on? Any signs of physical trauma? Does the other turtle bully the one that died?
If you can answer those questions we might be able to help you abit more. Any pictures of the cage? |

You don't have to have done anything wrong. If everything in the tank seems fine without an expensive autopsy there is no way of knowing what happened.

| | Regular Member | Join Date: Nov-07 Location: wollongong Gender:  | | | | there was no physical injuries and the other turtle is fine. i put the other in another tank just to be safe. no sprays or chemicals had been used either. the weird thing is there was no signs it went from fine to dead just like that. and the other turtle is a few centimetres smaller so i wouldnt of bullied the deceased one. they werent that juvenile though they were just about a year old |
