woma

could some one any one please help me I have a four month old woma she was oneof the most placid little girls you could get thursday I gave her a pinky rat that was a bit big she held it in her mouth trying to get it down but gave up and spat it out but curled her body around it , I fed her and went on doing other things a couple of hours later I saw what happened and took that one away from her and went to thaw out a smaller one ,now all she is doing is trying to bite me if I walk past her vivariums she throws her self at the glass in afrenzie I have put a sheet around her so she cant see she is so bad I am scared of her hurting her self what can I do she hates me for taking the bigger one from her.

She is just stressed. Leave her alone for a few day's and then try feeding or handling her...... She should be fine....

Womas have a very intense feeding response, by offering her food you have triggered that response but it hasn't been able to feed. Give it a smaller meal.

thank you , I have given her a smaller pinkie , she wouldn`t take it from me just kept striking at me so I left it in with her after about an hour or so later she did eat it , that was yesterday but she is still mad at me today , I will leave her a couple of days covered up then , when I take the cover off , see what happens, again thank you, I love her to bits .

I have found that with some snakes, Womas & BHPs particularly, that some of them will not take food from your hand, they prefer to get a smell of it and then have it left in their enclsore to eat when you have gone.

As Boa said, they have a very strong feeding response and that would be why she was striking.
