I've heard all the arguments against feeding live mammals to snakes, but are there different regulations on feeding live birds? In terms of damaging your snake, I wouldn't imagine a quail or chick could do much damage (compared to a rat).

Are the reasons against it just humane ones?

NB I'm not planning to do it, just curious!

Did a rescue last night of a Darter (water bird).
It was tangled in fishing line and had swollowed a hook.

I wish people would be more responsible when they go fishing.

Took this shot using the 128 LED 390nm UV torch as a light source. The epicuticle fluoresces a green visible light when exposed to UV light. Scorpions maximally glow under 366nm.

hey guys, I just watched Jamie's fowl dinners (chicken & egg episode) and saw how they culled adult chickens.

it was really simple, they got a metal rod with electricity running through it and placed it on the chickens head for a few seconds.. done.

I was just thinking whether this could be an alternative to not having to fork out for CO2 or even better for the softies... clonking.

reckon this would be effective with rats and all the rest? pose any possible cons for snake food?

thoughts?
