rat pellets, fresh fruit and make sure they have a contant supply of water. Keeping them in larger enclosures seems to make a difference as well - more exercise.

All my snakes diets consist of 50% quail, I leave beaks and legs on. They go down quicker than rats. Only down side is the mess a few days later.....smelly and runny.

I use ceramic emitters in all my enclosures to maintain the ambient temps as well as basking spots. They cost more but last at least 10x as long as globes.

I just got back from central oz last night. April will definitely be a ggod time to go......middle of summer is not the time to go. You either get cooked by the sun or you get flooded....
