If i was to get an opposite sex friend for our 18 monthish old coastal carpet, is it advisable to keep them separate or can they be housed together?

Feeding time :)

I learned how to use macro mode on my camera and got these :) Cranky that the batteries went just as i was lining up a really good 'smile' shot :(

he gets his first fuzzy on Sunday :)
