We had the same trouble, bulb after bulb some lasting only hours until we got put on to the ceramic heat emitter , as you said they are a bit expensive but have had ours now for 5 months and still...

I had alot of trouble a while ago then this current one lasted about 2 months but blew last night , i replaced it and 10 minutes later the new globe blew ,completely blew the bottom of the globe...

We feed ours in her enclosure and she is great to get out when you want to handle her, as long as you dont smell like food when you go to get her out you will have no worries...

Smile She is 6 months old, we got her about 3 months...

She is 6 months old, we got her about 3 months ago of Matt at Animal Attraction, she is our first snake and we treasure her , she eats well and handles excellent.

We use pieces of bamboo , you get them from most home or antique shops, they really look excellent and are strong for when your snake starts getting big, just another idea!!!!
