heat mat with thermo

i use a heat mat with a thermostat and a twin probe termometer.its a good set up i use with 42 litre plactic tubs, i have had low wattage heat mats (high quallity ones) melt plastic "click clack" ...

is the summer temps in canberra hotter then 40 degrees, my diamond goes from 40 degree summer days to 4 degree winter temps. as said previously as long as they can thermo regulate they will be fine....

i live in hunter valley, i do you heat mats but over summer a heat mat wont even come on during the day its to hot. i am in the process of setting up a better enclosure 1 with a UV light set up.

weight is also a factor, if your diamond has a lot of fat reserves, then she could go the whole cooling of period with out feeding. i just watch my diamond and can tell if she is hungry....if mines...

i have seen people using tea candles in a glass container (up side down glass baking dish) and it burns the oxygen, the mince go to sleep then die, very peacefull i have heard......for use on pinkies...
