True, will work perfectly fine. I've incubated mine in different ranges from 27-30, all hatch great and healthy, would think that 24 degrees is to low? But I'm sure i could be wrong on that.

Definatley recommended but by the sounds of it he doesn't have one available, would strongly suggest getting one over using an aquarium heater though.

Live plants and mulch "should" be fine not sure about the potting mix though, my guess is you wouldn't want the gecko digging in it (but hey that's a guess :P). What type of gecko is it?
