The most obvious difference is size, for a spotted(as an adult) you won't need anything bigger than an adult mouse so it's not as much of an issue.. but if you think about it, rats would be easier...

Some people say that a snake will calm down with age and regular handling, others think it's more to do with the individual snake or the size of the snake. So it's hard to say what will or won't work...
