My coastal pythons just started yesterday.
I know that some people hate coastals, but they are great snakes for beginners and there is lot of demand for this snake because of reasonable price.
I personally like them a lot. I learn how to take care of snakes by starting with coastals and my first clutch was also coastal.

It's interesting to read posts about cooling. Why bother, irrespective of where you live in Oz why provide any night heat.
Other than my babies that I heat for the first winter only none of the others have ever had night heat.
Yes, I live in S.E.Qld (the best place in Oz) but I see a number of frosts each winter.
I've been at a friends place very early one morning, air temp was -3.5C, good frost on the ground and his OUTSIDE snakes had a body temp of 5C.
They are fine and breed each year.
Also no night heating saves heaps on the power bill and I'd better mention the saving in CO2 ect emissions.
