don't know where in victoria you can get diamonds mate, but when you say cheap... just how cheap do you mean as diamonds generally sell for around the $350 mark... If you want cheap then go for a Murray Darling, Coastal or Atherton Jungle generally around $160 to $220

hi, all of these pythons grow quite large, say from 5 to 9ft sometimes the coastals get larger, just remember any snake you get you MUST keep for 6 months b4 you can sell it so make sure you are comfortable with your choice... diamonds are a cooler climate snake so in warm climates they are harder to keep, they need to be kept with their warm end around 28 where as the other pythons can be kept with a temp gradient of 26 - 32... i think however with the right housing and care they can each be kept as easily as the next 1's...

There is a person in Melbourne at the moment who is selling Diamond Crosses for $130. If you want a cheap first snake that you can get to handle and gain confidence, it might be worth tying him.
