Hey. I'm after anyone in my local area (wollongong) who is able to sell me a young (but of breeding age) female rat to add to my breeding collection. I only have one female at the mo.
Little critters are so hard to come by in pet shops down here!!!! And talk about getting the third degree when you ask for them!
About 8-9 weeks old or over would be ideal

so why precisely do you want to have one specifically of breeding age, they get to that age pretty quickly anyway. In addition, why dont you just tell the pet stores you want one as a pet? That seems like the easiest way around the issue with getting the third degree at pet stores. And even if they give you the third degree, they wont not sell a rat to you if you're paying them, just tell them its a present for little sister/girlfriend or something similar.
Just think, and things should be alright. Find a herping pet store, talk to the people who own/run the store, you'll find many more helpful at that point, and you may even get a discount on the rats if you guarantee that you'll be coming in regularly to buy them from the store.

Thats how i got my male. And i prefer of breeding age so i dont have to wait.
