I was told to never put a snake in a glass tank. You loose too much heat thru the glass!!!! My enclosure is an old display case with sliding glass on the front and heat lamp and thermostat and light fitted. I learnt the hard way to lock the glass as My guy is smart enough to open the slider!!!

i have mine in a mixture... and i am yet to see any major difference! so long as you set it up properly, whatever you keep them in is fine! and completely up to the individual

Well if you where in Qld or the top end I'd say go for it - Have you ever put your hand on the glass at night, your lights are on longer,(more power) etc - wood holds the heat longer then glass.
Your heating cost are less and the snake is not as stressed as it has only one veiw point not three or four as it would in a glass FISH tank.
"so long as you set it up properly"
What that going to cost to set it up properly?
Save you money and get a nice wooden enclosure - try ebay if money is a little tight - but give the enclosure a good clean and a day or two in the sun.
That's my 2c worth
