Hi lm looking for a Eastern Blue tongue male around 1-3 years old.
l am looking for a lizard which is high in colour to put with a very pretty
female bluey.
l cant remember where l saw the add possibly NSW a woman was selling
very high coloured blue tongue(easterns) 6-8months ago. They were actually
babies of parents who won best blueys at a Sydney reptile expo.
If anyone can help me with what l am looking for would be most thankful!!

Jan, If i remember right, the Blue Tongues that won at the Sydney expo were Alpine blue Tongues and not the Easterns.

Firstly Jan, how do you know you have a female. Both John Weigal and Glen Shea have stated recently that they can't sex them. Has she actually had babies? Most sexing methods are about 80% correct but again, as John Weigal stated, he always gets it wrong using those methods. He talod of the americans now sexing them by looking for sperm deposits in their poo.
So if you buy a male you may not be getting a male either.
If you want to breed them probably best to get a number and put them together. The fat ones will be the females.
Now, lots of people will now tell you that you can sex them. I am merely quoting the owner of the Australian Reptile Park and a Dr of Herpetology that did his PHD on Blue Tongues and is now supervising another student doing her PHd on Blue Tongues. Maybe they know their stuff. Maybe they dont.
