looking for an experienced snake breeder in sydney area who is interested in doing some sort of breeding program where they would recieve a percentage of profits from any offspring sold

pm if interested.

snakes to be bred would most likely be B&G or B&W jungles, BHPs, Womas or similarly priced snakes

What exactly do you want? Someone to breed them for you, or someone to go 50/50 with you?

my original idea was to invest in a breeding pair nice snakes (jungles or BHP etc.) and then when breeding season comes around give them to a breeder who would then look after them until eggs are layed, the snakes would come back to me while the breeder incubated the eggs, and the breeder would be paid a fee (that would be negotiated) most likely a percentage of profits from the babies.

this is obviously aimed at good breeders who dont really have the money to buy high end jungles or other such snakes.

however after thinking about this ive decided to buy some childrens and breed myself as it would be a good experience and after all i want to get into breeding myself.

so unless a breeder is very intested i wont be doing this anymore, but you can still contact me to throw some ideas around.

IF you want to invest in some albino darwins, GTP's, albino olives or RSP's I guess I could cool them for you, introduce the males to the girls, collect the eggs and incubate them for 50 / 50 share of the hatchies

PM me

that was the eventual idea, however my dad (business partner in this venture) wishes to "start small" which i can understand because he sees live animals as a potentially very bad investment. thats why i need a breeder who is close by to me so we could drop in from time to time and see how they were going and if i could prove to him in the coming season that it was viable then we would have no problem getting into some albinos or gtps and the expensive snakes in future seasons..

Part of the herpetological interest is learning about the captive husbandry / breeding of reptiles. To palm them of to someone to breed and hatch them for you is intrinsically lazy, leaving you prone to disease and the loss of your reptiles.
By leaving the breeding to someone else because of ones own inability to overcome problems will not assist you with whatever it is you are chasing? If you do not have the skills or patience to study and obtain the knowledge and hardware required for a successful breeding and hatching season you will certainly not be able to find the time or patience required to get the hatchies to feed.
Your Dad is a wise man! Listen to him! start small, get the skills, knowledge and Patience required.
As a footnote to my rant, where will you be if your snakes are returned with OPMV or IBD? Yes Animals are a risky venture! made even more so if you take silly risks.

before you start on a rant why dont you read the previous post and you will see that im buying some childrens and will be breeding them myself. it was merely an idea which i will no longer be undertaking. as for being lazy ill have you know i work full time and still find the time to keep my snakes in excellent conditions, just like any future purchases or hatchlings will be kept in.

the whole idea would also benefit a breeder anyway because it would be giving a chance for someone to breed snakes they may not be able to purchase otherwise.

and when your are managing thousands of metres squared of floorcoverings that are shipped in from all over australia and some from overseas on a weekly basis let me tell you you have to solve many problems so let me assure you i have a well above average problem solving ability

theres not point in arguing about the idea since ive considered it and wont be doing it
but i will not cop someone calling me lazy and questioning my problem solving skills

So you didn't put much thought into your original question then? Fair enough I retract my rant!

the point of asking a question is so you can get opinions of other so you can make an informed descision. i considered it before asking the question, and then others opinions gave me other points of view to consider.

I am locking this thread now, as the original question doesn't appear now to be valid and I can see it sliding into a argument.
